Photoshop CS5:

Loads .obj and .3ds models, live painting and object rotating in my favorite 2d program. Enough said.

Mines the extended version that I upgraded to, not sure about the other one's features. So far I love CS5 other than the fact that its a little laggy.

Ok, that was the difference i was wondering about. I believe that the 3D is only in the extended version. Even then, thats very impressive. Between that and the new Changes to 3dsmax 2011 art pipelines are getting that much more manageable.

(3Ds max basically uses the layer stuff from photoshop to allow re-texturing of UV maps quickly)
