Blender 2.49 Released

Post by Raven67854 »

Blender 2.49 was released May 30th and I must say the improvements are astonishing. For starters the game engine really is hugely improved. And with this new release we can lock the FPS of the game engine to whatever we want. Why this wasn't done before I am unsure but its a big help for me when I do rigid body simulations. I can lock the FPS at 25. There are a bunch of new improvements check out the release log.

Heck yeah.. the new texture node system is purely incredible. I don't think I need gimp anymore.

Awww the UI doesn't suck. Every time I hear people say the UI sucks I just think that they have never used it and are just basing it off of what other people say. Personally I found Maya harder to learn that Blender. And I own and know both :). Don't know Maya as well as I do blender but I bought it cause it was like $100 so I was like what the hell why not. But Blender has a great UI. I really don't get even to this day what people dislike about it. What do you hate about it Falken?

i can say from my experience it was incredibly uncomfortable. They was way too many things to get lost with and its not very easy to learn. This was about a year or more ago though.

Hahaha well I know from using Maya it feels the same way when I first started to learn it. But meh few hours of tinkering it gets pretty easy.
