Carrara 3d expo

Post by kyraneth »

For all of those interested in getting a new 3d software, i suggest carrara. The community has made a magazine to showcase it's full capabilities, since it is really underrated. Here is the link for the first issue : http://www.carrara3dexpo.com/

notes for optimal viewing:
Foxit Reader:
In the menu go to “View” and then down to “Page Layout”. In the “Page layout” submenu, make sure that “Facing pages” and “Show cover page during facing” are checked.

Adobe Acrobat:
In the menu go to “View” and then down to “Page Display”. In the “Page Display” submenu, make sure that “Two Up” and “Show cover page during Two Up” are checked. You can also choose to show or hide gaps between pages during “Two Up”.
Just FYI, the post is above, so stop looking down here and do something useful.

Yes i know :D but it's getting very little attention by daz, it's new owner:

1- it doesn't even have it's own website!
2- daz is trying to promote it's content using the software, and not the software itself.

This is the main reason behind this project :)

Howie is simply the most amazing carrara user out there, everybody is in love with his work :)

The soft is easy to learn, hard to master. You can start making beautiful scenes in no time, but tweaking the renders to make them perfect requires some experience. Ex: Howie work, and the pic i did for the lighting challenge (altho not nearly as beautiful as Howie's renders and very far from perfect :D) are the sort of thing that need some experience to do. And it has a very fast renderer, a plant generator, a terrain editor (with filters ex: mountain, hills, plateaus). If you ever to decide to purchase a license, i am available for help!

Btw, the topic's post is my 200 th :D

Congrats on the 200th post Kyraneth :). Well I wouldnt say the software needs its own website. But Daz could try at the very least to promote the software not the content. But then again I sorta get it there like this is what we made with this type deal. The plant and terrain editor is pretty nice touch but blender has those things to 8-). And hopefully will get more support here soon. Overall I will have to say this is a nice piece of software.

Daz can be a pain in the a$$, but community is not related to daz, so no worries. And blender is a great software too!

School is a really awful thing. finals are coming up, and i will probably become much less active for about a month :(
