Re: XNA

[quote="Raven67854"#Sakar I have used XNA in the past. Its a very nifty game library for C#. Personally I think most of C#'s success is due to the introduction of XNA. C# was in wide-spread use years before XNA was released. C# is merely popular because Java skills are portable to it, and...

Re: Boneyard (artdump)

How do you control how light the bleach makes the darks? it looks like there is pretty complex shading used.

Also, is that Pikachu's ribcage?! He looks a little emaciated! :(

Very awesome stuff, though! I like those game levels that you posted a lot! :)

Re: Dark Basic Update

Haha darkbasic is finally starting to get stable. And I remember they promised a dx10 version. STILL isn't done and now Dx11 is coming out. Lol wonder if they will skip Dx10 and go straight for 11? More than likely. DX10 was a joke compared to past versions. DX11 promises to make things like they u...

Re: Game Design Docs (Discussion about them in general)

It may be worth noting that what they are describing as the "Design document" is actually a "Game concept document". They seem to be using the two words interchangeably. They say that the "design document" is what you take to an investor to try to secure funding. What y...

Re: Why do I suck?

I dunno just make a simple text RPG or something. Or maybe make a simple 2d game of pong. This is how you start programming, not specifically how you start using a "drag'n'drop" game engine. Just start by making small practice areas in Eclipse. Work on your mapping skills, submit them for...

Re: Rate my Concept

Like the Nazi Zombies in CoD? What if your MMO turns out to be really successful and the makers of CoD found out you stole their idea? Ideas cannot be copyrighted, so they would not be able to do anything. Now, if he used the same character names, and other specifics from CoD, then you coul...

Re: Star Fantasy - 6/18/09

Game Maker is capable of some amazing things in talented hands, just like every other game engine/platform. However, because of the ease to create very simple games in GM, it is quite easy to only notice the flood of basic, shallow games. What opened my eyes to what can be done in GM was seeing Cact...

Re: Tan.Jer.Ian

Our of curiosity, is the name of the game based on something in the game world? I actually like it as well, because it stands out. It is not just another "World of Sand Online", or "Kung-Fu Warlords Online" or something like that. The only thing that I could possibly think is tha...
