Re: Atavism MMORPG solution

Oh nice! Yeah, that at least at a glance looks like a much better deal than Atavism.

Re: PHP Game Tutorial (2018)

Yep I said that on the last 5 projects I started: "This is it. I don't care how many players it will get. I just need to finish something." And then I still quit a couple of weeks later.

Re: Encrypting a password the same in C# and PHP?

I believe this is what Kyle was mentioning, but is there some reason why you can't use the exact same login table to login in both? You could then go on and have separate tables for the PHP and C# code. But if you need to have them separate, I think the issue is that you are looking at what are esse...

Re: PHP Game Tutorial (2018)

its funny, now that I have the coding experience to build a game I have always wanted to I can't seem to come together on the idea and platform. This! So this! That is where I am at. I was just thinking about this the other day. Back when I first started in programming on the Apple IIe when I was 1...

Atavism MMORPG solution

Has anyone heard of Atavism ? It appears to be a full-featured MMORPG development kit/solution/platform. It is commercial but the pricing seems to be indie-friendly. Their demo videos look impressive and it appears they are focused towards Unity, which is obviously not a bad choice for an indie stud...

Re: ASCII graphics

Tonight I finally made the full conversion from Promises and callbacks to async/await. I am not sure if you have been using this, but it really, really makes code much more clear and is so much easier to work with. And unlike in .NET, because async methods automatically wrap all return values in a P...

Re: Best App making kit/engine?

Yep! If I had $5 for every time I had seen that before, I would probably have about $20.

But yeah, that is what I figured GameGuru likely was. Even before I could really program I never had any interest in making games that way. I always knew I wanted to have my head in the code.

Re: Best App making kit/engine?

That was kind of my end result during my small time tinkering with mobile games. Obviously it connects much more with my Web experience, but it also feels more open and flexible. And of course it opens up the giant world of open source JS tools and libraries. I can't imagine App Game Kit has too man...
