Re: Have fixed width layouts won?
I agree that they both have their own purposes for the reasons you stated. And I would be inclined to use fluid columns if needed, especially for huge amounts of text, but it would be within a fixed framework and not an entire fluid layout. Re: Critique please.
Looks very nice indeed.
I like the gold/yellow against the bluey/topaz background, really makes it stand out.

Re: Question on breeding script
A system based on the actual laws of genetics (recessive and dominant traits, some characteristics are government by multiple genes etc) would be interesting, and you might be able to sell it to schools. Good idea, although I am dealing with fantasy here, so instead of greys, browns and blacks, I h...

Re: Have fixed width layouts won?
Well I studied fixed vs. fluid layouts when designing my site and tried both, but ultimately went with a fixed width layout. I did use a fixed-fluid-fixed layout for a while, but that soon went out the window. Here's a short article that seems to confirm that fluid layouts have had their day. As you...

I use Mappy - 2d and 3d Map Editor.

I like it anyway

Re: The site
Ok can see where you are coming from, subject closed.
EDIT: Don't know if you are aware, but when viewing the forum pages in IE, an empty image box is sitting over the Indie-Resource.com title at the top of the page. Doesn't appear in FF.

Re: The site
Not sure if you have had them in the past, but how about a chat room or rooms? Would make a good point of contact and may draw people in as I don't know of any other resource site like this that has a chat room. I installed flashchat http://www.tufat.com/script2.htm on my phpbb3 forum, it's a breeze...

Very true.
I shall give it a whirl and post some pics/code if and when I conquer it! No when I conquer it
