Re: Unreal Engine is Now FREE!!!
I know zero about scripting and very little about modelling, but I can say for a fact that it is simply amazing to work with for artists. Everything is drag and drop, very easy to make an attractive model, very easy to add on top of that model, everything just works. If unreal can set up a store lik...

Programmer Wanted
Hello all, I am looking for an experienced programmer that is capable of working with windows APIs for some simple data processing/injection/simulation (might not be correct terms but sounds very close). This is a paid gig so I am looking for results and updates during the process, as well as someon...

Re: .Exe Question
I don't know any and just wanted to tinker around with it a little bit, was one of those "awe inspiring" moments of what really hooked me into game development.
I'll try it out for sure

.Exe Question
Hey, I know this is going back quite a ways but back when the Forsaken Sanctum team was working away, Halls, you created a program for creating fast and easy weapon/armor creation. And included a GUI for making it look professional. I know this is a very vague description but here i go: The program ...

Re: Modular Roads v1
The roads here have that color to it, just have cracks and stuff. I'll be making those as decals eventually, but not priority right now, only have to make a few more pieces and ill be considering the roads finished then will be moving to street assets

Re: Modular Roads v1
Looks awesome and realistic :) Add some casual holes and fixed holes to make it look more real and its done :D I think the most I will be adding on these ones will be the lane turning/straight arrows and maybe puddles if I find out how everyone else is doing it. Not looking to break the cleanliness...

Re: Modular Roads v1
Already solved the first problem lightmaps are handled via uv channel and have to have no over laps.
Second problem was solved of texture compression at distances, but the distances weren't all that far away. Now streaming textures is off for roads so looks seamless

Re: Unreal Engine 4 available $19/month
As a hobbyist game dev, I gave up on 3D long, long ago. The art requirements are so sky-high today just so players won't attack the game for its looks, and a low-tech 3D look is typically much worse than a low-tech 2D look. Really the only option for a hobbyist to make a lush, 3D world is to go hyp...
