If downloading it didn't work, why would buying it again be any different? It's probably not even sold outside of sites like ebay anymore. But meh, I found a solution to the problem at hand: The game only crashes when I press the hotkey to build cities. I can do it the long way just fine, it seems.

Ok, I've tried the one I downloaded from Rapidshare, it doesn't work either. I tried running them in compatibility mode, that doesn't work either.

Any other ideas?
