A lot of the resources I found were always broken links. But I got enough information between studying Catbot, the tutorial posted below and some old Google talks videos to get started.

Oh wow, I was actually looking in VR last month and watching that new Sword Art Online anime. In that they only use helmets hooked up to computers, they just lied down somewhere comfy and started up the system.
