Re: Looking for a serious team to help build my project.

So what is your plan? Text-Based/2D/3D? Did you say that it was going to be a MMO-RTS? These things are all very important to have planned out before choosing an engine. If you are looking for a 3D RTS engine, I recommend looking at Spring ( http://springrts.com/ ). I tried using it before, but my ...

Re: Help with map size

Well, if there isn't much interactivity and not much else is loaded into memory when the map is displayed, I wouldn't see a problem with that. Yea there pretty much isn't going to be any animations going on in the map to start off, so i think it would work. But when adding animations to the buildin...

My project is a MMO RTS post apocalyptic game and I have all of the ideas thought out of and I have started on working on the deign layout and 3d modeling. Mostly what I'm looking for i...

Re: Help with map size

What platform is this for? Still for the browser? If so, you don't want to make an image that large. Browsers give you very little memory, and you will be spending most of it to have a giant raster image loaded in. Instead, most games work with sprites . Instead of having a huge image, they have ti...

Re: Help with map size

If you wanted to you could just make a 1600x900 or 1200x900 (standard sizes) and multiply it by 10 so 16000x9000 / 12000x9000 :P Kind of a noob way, and Im sure people have better suggestions. Or (if applicable) just have the map repeating. Well that will work, I just couldn't remember what the ori...

Help with map size

I'm looking to make a map for my game and the size that I want it to be is 10 times of a full screen browser window. If someone could tell me what size I make my image to begin creating this, that would be much appreciated.

Re: Looking for a serious team to help build my project.

Also check out CraftyJS . That and Melon are probably the best free HTML5 engines out there now. If you want something that isn't code-oriented, you could check out Game Maker Studio . I have been quite impressed with how GM has advanced in the last few years. Their product allows you to use "...

Re: Looking for a serious team to help build my project.

Unity is free. I do not recommend Torque 2d for any web development type work. I have used all of torques products, I own a studio license and it is way over complicated for what it is worth and has little to no ability to deploy to web. You can product the same results with HTML5 and there are ton...

Re: Thinking of game type for project

Why not join me and work together on my ever growing project? Having a second head / pair of hands would surely not hurt ;) What project are you working on? I also have a project that is in the works but seems to be at a stand still for now, so I would be interested in joining in on a project and m...
