Re: Development Hints: Behind the scenes of Technarhia MMO

Thanks, Jack :) I do have a referral ID that players can send to their friends and later on receive bonus resources. This reward-for-promotion thing is actually working very well - players who would promote their new source of fun would do it anyway, but with extra bonus it's a path that everyone is...

Hi fellow indies! Technarhia: Steampunk Strategy MMO game is officially up and running for a month already! You can check it and register if you like at www.technarhia.com . I've been writing a bit about the game development last year, and I took a long pause afterwards. However, since the game was ...

Re: Custom password encryption/decryption against cheats

Yeah getting into AS of Flash is not hard, but I'll decrypt it one way or another (still, I know, not 100% secure just might make it too time-consuming for hacker to get into it). As per the other half of suggestion/comment, indeed, it would be best to have Flash only send requests to Php which whil...

Custom password encryption/decryption against cheats

Now, I'm in final stage of editing details of my game and soon going official with it. So I wanted to hear your ideas on this security 'trick' I am using. The game is multiplayer and made in Flash (actionscript 3) as UI, with Php communicating with the database. Since the Flash is not secure enough ...

Re: My Game Updates

Great that you're progressing, and that you're determined to fight the problems :D I suggest formatting the amounts/prices with comma-separated thousands, will be easier to look at. Instead of echoing $row["amount"] or $row["price"] , just echo number_format($row["amount&quo...

Re: Please Read: This section is still open!

Hello folks :) I'm back to Forum and also back to finally finishing my game Technarhia (http://indie-resource.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=5377) so I'd appreciate if it stays open - trying to finish it for beta by the end of September :) I took a long pause (did some small coding in the meant...

Re: Sounds, do they matter?

One simple but not so worthy reminder, though: if you plan on putting many short sounds, lasting less than some 3 seconds or so, you don't need to have them in stereo. Use mono sounds to save some time on the loading side - most of the gamers won't notice the difference anyway, and almost no one wou...

Re: Naming a game

Some description of main features of the game or the world would be useful, but here are some suggestion:

- Terra Terroria
- Formidabilis
- Mysterialis
- Wiccanteria
