Oh don't worry, this game idea is really exciting me so I'm sure I won't be reading long before I'll try to hack some parts together and see how they work!

Exactly what I was looking for :) I even searched for books and couldn't find this, but I've got about 12-13 hours a day that I can focus on reading these books so I'm sure I should be able to get through them relatively quickly and really start messing around with it soon. :D Then I have to move on...

I already feel that way! :) I've just barely gotten started with node and I love it. I wish there was more documentation on socket.io though, but it all seems like it'll work perfect with a ton of ideas I have, it makes me feel like I don't have very many limitations on this game I'm about to start ...

So JS, node, socket.io and canvas. Any direction you can point me for setting up a testing environment for this? And I know we have a ton of tuts for using it here on the site so I'm not gonna ask about that.
